Glacier National Park & Granite & Park Chalet
25. 8. - 1. 9. 2026 (8 day trip)
United States
Glacier National Park is known as the "Crown Jewel" of the U.S. National Parks. It is located near Kalispell, MT and has easy access to hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and outstanding landscapes of snowy mountain peaks and multiple glaciers. The Highline Trail is located "above the tree line" along the Continental Divide. It leads to the historic Granite Park Chalet. Our plans will be to enjoy a few day hikes to get acclimated to the altitude and then hike to the Chalet for a expert led seminar on grizzly bears, mountain goats and wolverines.

Places I want to see: In the past, I have participated on a variety of wilderness teams (as a leader or as a worker) on behalf of the American Hiking Society and Wilderness Volunteers preforming manual labor on trail work projects. Our intent at this destination will be to view and photograph wildlife and the mountain landscapes as well as enjoy the seminar together.
Things I want to do: The historic Granite Park Chalet is located on the Continental Divide offering wonderful views of mountain tops and valleys. However, it is "rustic" and the rooms are fairly comfortable but lack some "normal" conveniences. Please read the descriptions on the National Park website for Glacier National Park. Other nights, we can plan appropriately to stay at a Park lodge or hotel. We will plan this park of the trip together.
