Road trip from Jakarta to Bali

My flight is booked and I arrive in Jakarta November 6th. I am still trying to nail down itinerary but was going to stay in Jakarta do some nice meals and rooftop cocktails. After that, I am looking into driving from Jakarta to Bali. I haven’t nailed down exact cities to visit but am looking at one way rental car. Tentative plan is to leave Jakarta Nov 11 and arrive in Bali Nov 16. I am going to leave car and fly on to next location. I am paying for car anyways so will cover that. I would rather have my own hotel room. I haven’t decided on full trip yet. Stay in Bali a bit and then off another island or Bali and then back to Jakarta for chilling.

Places I want to see: To be decided but maybe Bandung then, Yogyakarta, maybe Malang and surrounding area. Then maybe another town on way. Very flexible and no specific plan yet. I guess that is half the fun.
Things I want to do: Just check out cities, food and places. Coffee, pastry etc. Relax enjoy view and move slowly through country. Open to whatever but am not looking for super fast paced stressed agenda. Like everyone, I work hard in the day to day grind and am look for opportunity to relax a bit.
