Name: Sarah Pronouns: She/Her Age: 34 Destination: New Zealand Dates: Feb 18-March 5 Description: Hi all! My name is Sarah and I am a US American/Dutch citizen living and working in Berlin. It has been a life dream of mine to travel to New Zealand, both to visit some Lord of the Rings filming sites as well as experience the spectacular nature. I am planning a road trip from Auckland to Queenstown in mid Feb/early March and would love to have 1-2 people join me, ideally people who can help split the driving. I plan to rent a car/stay in motels or hostels. Some info about me: I grew up in the US but my father’s side of the family is Dutch/Lebanese (it’s complicated lol). I have been to 25+ countries and have done multiple solo trips. English is my first language, but I speak fluent German and some Dutch and Spanish. I enjoy light day hiking (up to about 5-8 miles round trip) but don’t enjoy camping due to old back injuries and other chronic health issues (asthma, migraines). My travel priorities are generally about hitting a mix of some popular destinations but also finding some off-the-beaten-track activities. I have a Masters in Cross-Cultural and International Education and work in the field of study abroad as a host family coordinator for exchange students. I love animals and have 2 cats. In my free time I play ukulele, watch Dropout.TV, improv theater, knit, and go exploring the nature around Berlin. I am very outgoing, and care deeply that the folks around me feel included and safe. I like to plan and am a fan of spreadsheets and google docs. Ideal travel companions: late 20s-late 30s, any gender is ok. Absolutely no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism etc. I am a plus size woman and my fitness level is ok (I generally walk 2-5 miles daily in Berlin, and much more on vacation), but looking for folks who don’t mind taking things slow occasionally or who aren’t thrown by needing breaks.
