Exploring from Turku to wherever - dates flexible

I'm going to Turku to visit a friend around the first weekend of April. I want to get there without flying, so that's the first challenge... Before and/or after that weekend, let's explore the rest of the country! NB: not sure what kind of budget is realistic. I was hoping to keep it under 500€, but that might be tricky with the trains and ferries and whatnot.
