This short trekking trip starts with meeting up in Kathmandu, Nepal and also ends there. The trek is called 'Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek'. We will spent a day in Kathmandu to apply for trekking permits and explore around Old Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, fly to Pokhara and enjoy the day in the natural ambiance with Lake and the snow peaks. The trek is 4 days long and goes all the way to 3,200 m at Poon Hill. Poon Hill has one of the best Himalayan view with over a dozen of snow peaks standing in a row. Three of them are among the 10 highest in the world, Dhaulagiri - 8,167 m, Annapurna I - 8,091 m and Manaslu 8,163 m. The trek is moderate in grade with about 5 - 6 hrs of walking everyday. First couple of days are climbing up the mountain. Second day is the most challenging with the altitude gain of 1,000 m. Accommodtion will be teahouses / lodge with basic facilities like hot shower, simple but testy and hygienic food and western style toilet. On the fourth day we will trek for about 5 hrs and drive back to Pokhara. Then fly back to Kathmandu the next day. We will explore the medieval town of Bhaktapur and Patan.
