Southern Italy, late spring or summer 2026

I'm looking to visit southern Italy this spring/summer. I'm pretty flexible on timing between early May and early August. I'll probably fly in/out of Rome, spend a couple days there. I would like to spend about a week in Puglia and a week in Sicily. Would love to hit Bari, Polignano a Mare, Lecce, and Ostuni in Puglia. In Sicily, I'd like to see Palermo, Taormina, and the Aeolian Islands. Open to other suggestions! Renting a car seems like the best way to get around both Puglia and Sicily.
