Trip to Las Vegas

I have never been to Las Vegas. I am looking to explore the city, I'm thinking about renting a lumo there for one night (on me), Maybe visit the grand canyon from las vegas. I am fairly flexible in we can travel either in mid December 2018 or Jan 2019 but would prefer it to be longer than 4 nights! The ticket are cheap at those dates 600$ all inc, I would suggest that we get around via foot and the subway as that will be the easier option.
